Jawa motorcycles really had an intolerable craze in history for about three decades in the past. It was a story of Inspiration, after war crisis and technological innovation. Dreamed by the then heroic bikers who were never satisfied with their own and were hungry always to imagine about Ultimate bikes and always in search of the last page of Jawa story that hasn’t been written yet…

Explore the Jawa Legendary Beginning

František Janeček, a Czech Republican, who patenting over 60 inventions, studied mechanics in Prague and a graduate from the Berlin College of Engineering. After World War I, a large potency of skilled manpower became workless and so the factories of Europe started focusing on their precision manufacturing techniques on the optimistic world of motorcycles. Janeček, among were those. He purchased the Wanderer Company which was a German manufacturer of bicycles, motorcycles, automobiles, vans and others along with the design and tooling for the new Wanderer 500 motorcycle. Combining the two from ‘Ja’neček and ‘Wa’nderer, the “Jawa” arose as a motorcycle company and the first Jawa motorcycle was launched - the Jawa 500 OHV and from here he started unveiling its potential and crafting the history of motorcycles.  To satisfy the mass ongoing demand, Janeček had to build lightweight and economical motorcycles. For  leading this initiative, renowned British engineer with prior racing experience, G.W. Patchett served as the chief designer for Jawa, started frame work with Jawa by using the 175cc Villiers two-stroke engine and the new Jawa 175 became the most popular motorcycle in Czechoslovakia. Additional various models were introduced including 250cc and 350cc two-stroke engines in this race. In that period of time, subsequently,

Jawa discontinued production of the 500cc OHV. In the World War 2 era under
Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia, Janeček line-up was preparing his motorcycles for the next triump- the Jawa "Perak" and coated his bikes in the same shade of green as the German vehicles. The bike had telescopic forks up front, a square section steel tube frame, plunger suspension in the rear and multi-disc wet clutch integrated into the gearbox. It was a revolutionary motorcycle built around a new 249cc two-stroke single unit gearbox construction and with this specification Jawa was then nationalized creating a single brand called Jawa-CZ and started trade to third world countries.

Legendary fusion of Jawa India

It was the year of 1960, when Jawa introduced in India under the license of Jawa motorcycles.  Ideal Jawa India Ltd founded by Rustom and Farrokh Irani, began importing Jawa motorcycles into India.  Later, in 1961, The then Governor of Mysore State, Maharaja Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar inaugurated the Production factory at Mysore and Production was carried out directly in India itself and started gratifying the youth’s craze of motorcycle  in India.
Ideal Jawa (India) Ltd sold motorcycles under the brand name Jawa and later from 1971 as Yezdi and sold the new motorcycles with technical assistance from Jawa. The Jawa 250 was the first choice of transform for urban youths and for many valiant racers. Fariborz Irani, CK Chinappa, and Somendar Singh were a few of the domestic names who made the brand famous.
Sporty trend of Jawa
Between 1961 and 1971, they manufactured many models of these brands before the company halted in 1996, citing financial constraints as the manufacturing cost crushes down the selling quantity and cost. Moreover, from that era, Japan spread his eyes on India’s potential market and the giant, massive, iconic jawa motorcycles were replaced by compact, economical and easy-to-use scooters and bikes. This was 90’s globalization as more and more two-wheeler companies and manufacturers introduced their products in India. But, For so many years of service, more fuel-efficient vehicles, historicized old company that manufactured 250cc Jawa motorcycles even in that period, which renamed as Yezdi after a 15 years of run, was till sportier and in huge passion and in demand, backed to the top of the popularity in the charts.
In late 2016, Mahindra and Mahindra got the license to produce and sell Jawa Motorcycles in India. Anand Mahindra, Executive Chairman of Mahindra Group tweeted about the comeback of iconic Jawa brand in India. But, after a lazy mind compression, after two years of soulful wait, at last Jawa motorcycle comes back on 15th November’2018.  It was a day of eye splash…We should remind the words of  Raian Irani, a major shareholder and son of the late company head Farrokh Irani "If our retrenchment plan goes through, we can bounce back."….

In October 2016, Mahindra & Mahindra, through its subsidiary Classic Legends Private Limited (CLPL), signed a licensing deal to launch motorbikes under the JAWA brand name in India and some other East Asian countries. . They are manufactured in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. Classic Legends is currently bringing alive the Jawa, not simply as a brand but the way of life. They has leveraged the best of its partner capabilities in design and engineering along with the global expertise, to launch products of the original Jawa. In November 2018, the Classic Legends launched three motorcycles in India -  Jawa 300Jawa forty two and Jawa Perak.

Time passed away as usual… but at last… it really bounced back… Jawa bike 2018… at Last.
